Bridge

A bridge is a fixed restoration that is used to replace one or more missing teeth by joining an artificial tooth to one or both adjacent teeth. Some bridges can also be fixed to your jaw with dental implants, if you have several teeth next to each other that are missing.

Once you have a bridge fitted, you will have to take extra care during your daily hygiene regime to ensure you keep it plaque and build-up free to minimise the risk of decay in surrounding teeth and gum irritation or disease.

Bridges can be made of several materials such as porcelain, ceramic, zirconia and precious and non-precious metals. The material used can be altered depending on desired results.

Patients often choose to have a dental bridge instead of a denture as it is a fixed alternative, which allows you to chew and eat like you would with your natural teeth.
